Carlos Rodríguez-Sickert is the co-director at CICS and he will be speaking at the fore-mentioned International Congress, which is being organized by Universidad de Chile’s RIA Group and Universidad de Valparaíso, along with the support of the Complex Systems Institute of Valparaíso and our own CICS.

The congress will take place between January 14th and 16th in Valparaíso, Chile. Isabel Behnke from Oxford University is among the well-known and respected researchers who will be speaking at the congress, along with Lucía Castillo from the University of Edinburgh, Jorge Soto and Roberto Araya, both from the Center for Advanced Research in Education (CIAE in spanish), and Javier Núñez from Universidad de Chile’s Faculty of Economics, amongst others.

Carlos Rodríguez-Sickert’s lecture is titled: “Experimental Game Theory and the measurement of an individual’s willingness to cooperate during collective action problems”. During his lecture, Rodríguez-Sickert will analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the use of Experimental Game Theory as a method to measure pro-social willingness in groups of people, and compare it to other traditional methodologies applied with this same purpose. He is scheduled to speak on Thursday, January 15^th.

Professor Rodríguez-Sickert will show several examples of the application of this methodology during his lecture. These examples will be taken from experiments which have already been published and others from projects that are currently being developed at CICS.
