Director of the CICS speaks out on NerdNite
Thursday, 8 December, 2016 | NEWSCarlos Rodríguez-Sickert, Director of Social Complexity Research Center, gave a talk to the general public about the main foundations of game theory, its practical applications in everyday life and the features and importance of cooperation.
Together with Rodríguez-Sickert, there were also other lectures given by Gaspar Galaz, Ph.D in Astrophysics and Director of the Astrophysics School at Universidad Católica de Chile, and Susana Eyheramendy, Ph.D in statistics and expert in Chilean genetics.
The Nerd Nite began in 2003, founded by Chris Balakrishan in Boston, from where they expanded to more than 90 cities throughout the world. The central idea of these events is to combine learning with entertainment in a relaxed atmosphere, so that 2 or 3 speakers per night make short presentations and then talk to the audience in a horizontal and informal way.
