obtained his BA in Economics from the Universidad Católica de Chile; and his PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge, specializing in game theory. After he completed his Dissertation he returned to the Universidad Católica to accept a position at the Department of Sociology and became an International Fellow at the Santa Fe Institute. He currently works at the Faculty of Government at UDD. He is the Director of the PhD in Social Sciences that the UDD will inaugurate in 2013. Rodríguez-Sickert’s research currently focuses on the cultural and biological mechanisms, which allow humans to cooperate.



Ricardo Guzmán

majored in Computer Science at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC), and obtained a degree in industrial engineering from the same university. Also at PUC, he obtained a master in financial economics and a PhD in economics. He has published papers in a variety of fields such as evolutionary psychology, behavioral economics, mathematical sociology, demography, and development economics. He is currently head of research of CICS.
